Weakened Connection between East China Summer Rainfall and the East Asia-Pacific Teleconnection Pattern

The interdecadal change in the relationship between East Asia-Pacific (EAP) teleconnection pattern and rainfall over China during boreal summer (June–August) was investigated using observation reanalysis datasets 1951–2018. As proposed a previous study, Yangtze-Huaihe River (YH-R) valley is below (above) normal when positive (negative) EAP event occurs. Based on close with anomalies, has been widely used prediction of variations YH-R valley. However, we found that anomalies basin associated were weaker less evident after late 1980s.
